How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your DevLingo account directly from within the app in two ways:

1. Open the DevLingo app
2. Go to Profile → Settings
3. Scroll to the bottom
4. Tap Terminate Identity
5. Confirm deletion — your account will be permanently deleted

If you cannot access the app, you can also request deletion by emailing us at thedevlingo@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days:

• Your profile (username, email, avatar, bio)
• All learning progress (XP, streaks, completed lessons, skill tree data)
• Gems, shields, and all virtual currency balances
• Forge practice history and mistake records
• Friend connections, follower/following lists, and friend streaks
• Foxel AI conversation history
• Notification preferences and settings
• Crew membership (you will be removed from any Crew)

What Is Retained

The following data is retained after account deletion for legal and compliance reasons:

• Payment and transaction records — retained for 8 years as required by Indian tax law (GST compliance). These records contain transaction IDs and amounts but are not linked to your active profile after deletion.
• Anonymized analytics data — aggregate usage statistics that cannot identify you individually are retained for product improvement.
• Abuse and safety records — if your account was flagged for policy violations, a record may be retained to prevent re-registration abuse.

Subscriptions and Refunds

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription or entitle you to a refund. If you have an active Pro or Crew subscription, please cancel it first via Google Play / App Store before deleting your account. For refund requests, see our Refund Policy.
